What runs in the background
Five operations continue without you — and verstag does not tell you when one of them finishes.
Five things run in the background: verification, rendering a single output, batches, the cell analysis, and fetching a provenance report. Signing is not an operation of its own — it is a step inside rendering.
There is no notification
verstag does not tell you when any of them finishes. No email, no push message, no notification area, no bell — and no toast in the open tab either. If a batch finishes while you watch, the display updates without a success message appearing.
Every message in the product belongs to something you just did.
Where you see the state
| Operation | Where |
|---|---|
| Verification | seal on the tile, lock banner in the editor |
| Rendering an output | the editor's downloads drawer, the asset's tile in the library, the project header |
| Batch | header and cell chips on the detail page |
| Cell analysis | count strip in the contact sheet |
These displays update themselves as long as the tab is open. If it takes longer, the page moves to a quieter rhythm and says so.
Rendering in the library
While an output renders, its asset's tile says so — even after you have left the editor. For a video it shows how far it has got („Ausgabe wird gerendert · 42 %“, rendering output · 42 %), or that it is still waiting for a free slot („Ausgabe in der Warteschlange“, output queued). When several outputs of one asset render, the tile only counts them.
The percentage measures the picture. Signing and uploading come after it, so it stops just short of the end: the output is done when the note disappears. After five minutes the library only asks every 30 seconds; a 4K video often takes longer without anything being stuck.
A failed output stays noted on the tile („Rendern fehlgeschlagen“, rendering failed) until you render it again in the editor or delete it.
The header of an open project and its tile under „Alle Projekte“ (All projects) count the same for the whole project: „2 Ausgaben werden gerendert · 1 fehlgeschlagen“ (2 outputs rendering · 1 failed). The header counts again as soon as a tile you have already loaded finishes.
What does not update itself
Three places show the state from when the page was loaded: the batch overview — a finished batch still reads „Läuft“ (running) there. The project tiles under „Alle Projekte“ — a finished output is still counted there. And the downloads drawer, once closed and opened again. In all three cases, reloading the page helps.
What you can do
For a long batch: leave the tab open, or come back later. Both work; neither brings you a message.
A verification runs to completion even if you close the tab. The seal is there on your next visit.
